Frequently Asked Questions
What is the temperature rating of the Mountain Blanket?
Our camp blankets are not scientifically tested or rated for temperature limits – only enclosed products with zippers can be tested for EN standard temperature ratings. However, our team recommends using the Mountain Blanket at temperatures no colder than 40ºF to 50ºF depending on how warm or cold you like to sleep.
What’s the difference between the Mountain Blanket and Field Blanket?
The Mountain Blanket lined with an ultra-plush fleece interior is a warmer and heavier-weighted camp blanket than the Field Blanket. Best enjoyed as your go-to car camping blanket on mild to chilly nights.
How do I wash my Mountain Blanket?
Hand washing your gear with cold water and Grangers Down Wash + Repel is best for extending its useful life, but it can also be cleaned in a front-load washing machine (do not use a washing machine with an agitator). Washing machine instructions:
- If the gear is soiled or stained, use the recommended amount of Grangers Down Wash + Repel. Do not use fabric softener, bleach, or stain removal products.
- Wash the blanket by itself using the gentle/cold water setting.
- Hang to dry, or use the delicate, no-heat tumble setting on the dryer with a clean tennis ball, or dryer ball. Do not stuff it back in a stuff sack if it is damp or wet.

Cozy and Soft blanket
So comfy and cozy around the campfire. After relaxing, I jump in my hammock and cuddle with my blanket. My favorite!

Nice blanket
I got the blue one, and the color is lovely. Perfect mid-weight blanket, with a “cool side” and warm fluffy side.

many uses, and versatile.
Love the warmth while watching tv in the evening, curling up with hubby and the dog. The color is a sea mist. light green. Not so much school colors, but going to go to the football games next year, where watching the grandsons play. Always cold in the evening. Perfect for all around. also sitting around the campfire.

2nd one on its way!
I’m not a camper by any means. This blanket is perfect for NorCal beaches at sunset and backyard mornings with coffee. The poncho is incredibly convenient for fire pit nights. Very compact to pack and not bulky at all, yet incredibly warm and cozy – me and my teenage kid can both share comfortably. I bought it for the soft fleece side as it’s hard to find an outside blanket with cozy fleece. I loved it so much that I just bought a second one 3 weeks after I bought the first one! (My husband was envious of mine!)

Not just a blanket
This is a quality product! It’s warm, soft, and cozy. I love that it turns into a poncho! I’ve been wearing it around the house when i don’t feel like starting the woodstove. I’ve spilled tea on it so I can confirm it does double duty as a bib! Can’t wait to test it in the field with my hammock. I’m confident it will perform!

The ultimate outdoor, cold weather comforter
First off, I’ve worked with outdoor products for a few years and right away I can tell you that this is a quality item! Good stitching, materials, and design. Secondly, this thing is warm and heavy and huge! I can barely wear it around the house because I get hot! If you’re cold blooded or playing in the cold you won’t be disappointed. The blanket is easily large enough for two people to share, warm enough for chilly cuddles (you could definitely cozy up near a fire in below freezing temperatures for an evening), and it’s heavy and comforting. I would not use it as a standalone sleeping bag in temperatures below 50 – however, it isn’t meant to do that anyhow. I put it over my down sleeping bag when car camping in spring and Autumn. I specifically got this one because the fuzzy lining means it doesn’t slip off your bag or body. (The fuzzy lining is rediculously soft.) Also, so far the water resistance is holding up, and I feel confiding laying it down on snow or dewy ground, and sheltering under it in snow and light rain. I love using it as a poncho but it’s huge on my 5’5″ frame and almost brushes the ground, so I have to be careful to not let it drag. It’s also wayyyy too heavy to backpack with, period. I think it’s the ideal sleepover blanket, perfect for stargazing and car camping, and good for use at home and chilly outdoor events. It’s probably too warm and heavy for a throw blanket, or use above 70 degrees, and it’s very big so wearing it as a poncho might not work for everyone. In the end, think of it as the ultimate outdoor, cold weather comforter.

Another solid product
At home on the couch, as a blanket when sleeping in the car, as an insulation layer for the floor of a tent when car camping. 4lbs for a blanket is a bit heavy especially even I’m used to how warm down quilts are for their weight. This is probably good to 45° with a light fleece and jeans on if you’re lounging. I think it’s also good to note that I love in Washington where we get 100°+ to 20° temps in the same year. I like how the quilts snap together for a makeshift 2 person sleeping bag on warm nights. I think all in all there is so much flexibility with this product that it has a lot of value for someone looking to buy just one awesome camp blanket. I do wish that you could make more of a footbox out of the bottom so you could use more like the firebelly while Lounging in a hammock, it does okay but could be better.
